Course Objective Demonstrating the basic classification of minerals Teaching the fundamental knowledge of mineral chemistry as a basis for understanding the basic role of minerals in the geologic environments. Giving the rudiments of morphological crystallography, Exposing to the basic role of the most important rock-forming minerals, and some "economic" minerals, in the geologic environments .
Course Content Introduction to mineralogy / physical properties of minerals, introduction to mineral chemistry, chemical bonding in minerals, controls on crystal structure, polymorphism, mineral classification system, crystal growth–growth twinning, recrystallization, exsolution and pseudomorphism, classification and identification of minerals.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
