Course Objective The objective of the lecture is that students learn statics subjects, which face them frequently both during their study as well as during their profession.
Course Content Introduction to statics. •Vectors and vector operations. •Force systems. Moment. Force-couple and wrench. •Static equilibrium and equilibrium conditions; Free body diagrams. •Support types. •Statically determinate structures; Bars; Trusses; Beams; Space structures. •Distributed loads. •Centre of gravity. •Moment of inertia •Bending of beams, shear force and bending moment. •Friction and friction types. •Virtual work.
