Course Objective	Introduce the structure of the satellite communication systemand to give necessary concepts about system and the subsystems used in the satellite communication systems.
Course Content	Fundamentals of satellite communication system structures / Orbits and related issues / Baseband signals and quality of service / Digital communication techniques / Uplink, downlink and intersatellite links / Multiple access / Satellite networks and earth stations.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Understand satellite orbits and their features
2	Understand the systems required by a communications satellite to function and the trade-offs and limitations encountered in the design of a communications satellite system
3	Understand the radio propagation channel for Earth station to satellite and satellite to satellite communications links
4	Understand how analog and digital technologies are used for satellite communications networks and the topologies and applications of those networks
