Course Content Basic principles of optics / Polarization, reflection and refraction / Planar mirror waveguides / Mode solutions for dielectric planar slab waveguide / Mode solutions for dielectric cylindrical waveguides / Two-dimensional waveguides / Photonic crystal waveguides / Characteristics of single-mode and multi-mode optical fiber / Coupled mode theory / Loss and dispersion mechanism in optical communication waveguides
