COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To teach the basic concepts and methods in the organic surface coatings technology. To provide a perspective on bulk manufacturing methods and various physical and chemical properties of the organic coating material.
Course Content Introduction, film formation, organic binders, alkyd resins, natural resins, plasticizers, cellulosic resins, vinyl polymers, acrylic polymers, silicones, polyurethanes, polyurethane and epoxy coatings. Organic and inorganic pigments, paint manufacturing, surface preparation and application. Special anti-corrosive paints and organic coatings.
