Course Objective Provide the essential link between properties, production and performance of materials. Production methods associated with material properties. To understand the importance of production and environmental impact, material type, thermal process. To learn basic method of material design and material selection.
Course Content To define and classify of engineering materials, an importance of elasticity module, determination yield and tensile strength, creep, fatigue and wear resistance, corrosion resistance and corrosion protection methods, an importance of main factors such as mechanical properties and material costs for selection materials and a material selection for mechanical equipment such as shafts, gears, bearings, chain, bolts, screws, nuts.
