Course Objective To give the students detailed information on earth dams. To teach in which conditions, the earth dams are preferred and to teach the design principles of earth dams.
Course Content Earth fill dams, dam types, fill types according to construction and body types. Design principles of earth dams. Overflow criteria of dams, seepage and piping in body, the precautions to control seepage and piping. Stability of slopes, investigation methods of stability. Stability of foundations. Rock earth dams.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
