CIVE 419BEHAVIOUR OF STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS3 + 08th Semester4

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Investigation of structural elements' behaviours constrained under the loads. Investigation of necessary specifications for structural elements' design by several samples taken from the damaged structures in the previous earthquakes. To investigate the theoretical applications with computer models.
Course Content Behavior of material, concrete and steel. Behavior of reinforced concrete members under the bending effect. Ductility, Plastic hinges, unconfined and confined concrete behavior. Behavior of reinforced concrete members under the bending and axial load effects. Classification of load carrying systems.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1to be able to know the engineering applications of mathematics and physics.
2to understand structural system and member behavior.
3to understand member behavior during past earthquakes.
4to combine theory and practice.
