CIVE 450GROUND WATER HYDRAULICS3 + 07th Semester4

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective To give basic information on groundwater hydrology, well hydraulics and practice methods to the fourth grade civil engineering students.
Course Content In this course, primarily, introduction on groundwater hydrology and well hydraulics is presented to the student; then subjects on generation of groundwater and storage properties of aquifers are explained. Under the title of principles of groundwater flow, Darcy law, heterogeneity and isotropy subjects are treated. Then, the equations of groundwater flow are investigated for confined and unconfined aquifers. In the lessons on solution methods, subjects on one-dimensional stable groundwater flow, stable radial flow, unstable radial flow, well function, groundwater decrease and aquifer properties are explained.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Has knowledge on groundwater hydrology and well hydraulics.
2Can make well hydraulics calculations
3Has practical information on groundwater hydraulics.
