Course Objective To give the students detailed information on the sediment transport in rivers, to show the variations of flow due to existing solid materials, to teach how to calculate the rate of sediment transport in rivers.
Course Content Properties and classification of solid matter; mechanical characteristics of flow; uniform flows; properties of Prandtl mixing length; beginning of solid matter transport in the river bed; shapes of moving beds, resistance of beds, calculation of solid matter flow ratio.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Knows the properties of solid materials and can make classification
2Has knowledge of the mechanical properties of flow, uniform flows, properties of Prandtl mixing length; beginning of solid matter transport in the river bed; shapes of moving beds, resistance of beds, calculation of solid matter flow ratio.
3Can calculate the rate of sediment transport in rivers
