COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Provide opportunity to our university students; to be able to have basic information on/about music and have a sense of appreciation and taste towards music while majoring in their own academic fields throughout their learning period. Allow students develop the kind of personality to be able to cope with global changes, interpersonal relations and thus a status having been achieved as to have delicate and respected environment by being an active participant of cultural, educational, and social events organized by Pamukkale University, through our cultural and art oriented activities, to put our students out of monotonous circle of life into active, happy and productive and creative happy environment.
Course Content The techniques of using sound. Breathing exercises. Diaphragm exercises. Diction exercises. Introduction to various musical instruments. The spelling system of note in Traditional Turkish Music. Traditional Turkish folk music history, creation and production. Traditional Turkish folk music types according to regions. Examples of the types of Turkish folk music such as repertory study. Traditional Turkish Art Music history and types such as overture, instrumental improvisation, lyric, instrument diagram, song. Traditional Turkish Art Music repertory work. Turkish Art Music periods; formation, development, peak, recession, new era. Turkish music types: non-religion; military, public education, contemporary, traditional folk, traditional art, Religious music; mosque music, sufi music, etc. 2/4 to 10/8 rhythmic patterns. Sing the National Anthem with communities.
