Course Objective	The aim of this course is to provide students with ability to explain local, metropol and wide area network technologies and their protocols and the operation of these protocols, routing concepts and routing protocols.

Broadcast Recognition Access Method. Repeater device. Hub device. Bridge device. Router device. Switch device. Metropol Area Network Technologies. DQDB Technology. Introduction to Wide Area Network Technologies. Classification of Wide Area Networks. CSU/DSU E1, T1, T3 Digital Services. SONET X.25 Technology. ISDN Technology. xDSL Technologies. Frame Relay Technology. ATM Technology. Introduction to Routing. Open Shortest Path First Protocol (OSPF). Routing Information Protocol (RIP). Interdomain Routing Protocol (IDRP).
