Course Objective The aim of this basic information technology course is to provide basic knowledge about computer, hardware and software. To improve students' capability to use current programs such as windows operating systems, word, excel, power point, etc.
Course Content Description of the computer's main hardwareIntroduction to the Windows operating system.Desktop operation on windows desktopIntroduction of basic current programsPresentation of the MS Word program, creating and saving operations of documentEditing, copying and formatting applications in MS Word environment. Introduction of tools menu and sample document applicationsPresentation of the MS Excel program, creating and saving operations of documentConcept of cell and types of data entry into the cells, writing formulas using arithmetical and logical operators.Graphic creating in MS Excel and changing of graphic elements Using MS Word and MS Excel Programme together.Control process in MS Word.Logical operations, data evaluation processes in MS Excel.Introduction to MS Access database and preparation of MS PowerPoint presentation.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Mainboard, micro processor, printer, etc. of a computer may recognize the basic and additional equipment and find out convenient solutions to encountered problem.
2Operating systems such as the Windows XP and Vista etc. recognition and efficient use of these operating systems.
3Efficient use of MS OFFICE Word program, Efficient use of MS OFFICE Excel program, Recognition of MS Access database and prepare to MS PowerPoint presentations
