The development and operation of financial markets, institutions and instruments in the world as well as Turkey; conduct of monetary policy, central banking, structure of banking industry in Turkey; competition and financial liberalization program; non-bank financial institutions and their role in the financial system; regulation and internationalization of the financial markets. .
Course Content
Topics covered in this course are the World Trade Organization (WTO) regime and the General agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the origins and basic rules of GATT/WTO including Most Favored Nation, National Treatment, Technical Barriers, and provisions on quantitative restrictions, escape clauses, the WTO agreements such as the Agreement on Traderelated aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), the history, purpose, structure and functions of IMF.
