Course Objective The general aim of this course is; To support the professional and personal development of teacher candidates with traditional storytelling training, to support them to develop their national and universal professional attitudes and values by getting to know their own cultural structures more closely.
Course Content Basic Elements and Structure of the Fairy Tale, Types of Tale, Classification of Fairy Tales, Preparing the Story and Tale Environment, Story and Tale Telling, Story and Tale Telling Techniques, Improvisation, Relationship between Narrator, Audience and Story, Body Awareness, Space Awareness, Body and Space relationship, How Can We Improve Ourselves in Storytelling and Tale Telling?, Imagination Development Activities, Use of Stories and Tales in Educational Settings, The Effect of Story and Tale on the Subconscious, Story and Tale Writing Activities, The Healing Power of the Tale and the Story, Child Analysis with Fairy Tales and Stories

1Have knowledge about the differences between fairy tales and fairy tales from other genres.
2Explain the importance of traditional storytelling.
3Apply the methods and techniques of storytelling.
4Explain the importance of rhymes and digressions in storytelling.
5Explain the importance of using language in storytelling.
6Explain the importance of bonding with the tale and the listener with examples.
7Explains the educational function of the tale.
8Explain the importance of using voice, breath and body in storytelling
9Explains how to choose the tale according to students’ age
10Explain the importance of music in storytelling.
11 Explains the importance of rhythm in storytelling.
12Designs rhythmic games with rhythm, dance, movement in storytelling
13Pay attention the use of diction, intonation, rhythm and body in storytelling.
