COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	It aims to develop students’ overall knowledge of English language and literature and thus improving their reading-understanding and communication skills on literary texts as well as helping them develop their English language skills. The course also aims at providing students with the basic knowledge of History of English literature, literary periods, literary movements, Pioneer authors and their master pieces as well as basic literary terms and devices along with their usages in the authentic materials
Course Content	Major authors and literary works of English literature, American Literature and literary books that are writing in English, selected from different genres and periods; British literary periods and basic literary movements; literary terms, techniques, basic literary devices and, philosophical and scientific movements through using different literary genres from various literary periods and movements.
