Course Objective Students will learn the language learning theories and appreciate the link among the techniques, methods, approaches in language teaching and language learning theories by studying the main points, strengths and drawbacks of various teaching methods and techniques used in language teaching, and discussing the possible applications of each method or approach within Turkish context. .
Course Content In this course, the students will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the approaches, methods and techniques in foreign language education. They study various approaches and methods in the literature and watch some applications and analyze them. They will also perform some microteaching applications of the studied approach or method with various techniques and get feedback related to their performance. Students will also compare and contrast various language teaching approaches and methods and discuss the possible applications and use in various contexts in Turkey.
