Course Objective To make teacher candidates comprehend the nature of mathematics and the meaning of learning mathematics.
Course Content The nature of mathematics and mathematical thinking; the meaning of mathematics learning and teaching; the goal and fundamental principles of mathematics teaching; the history of mathematics teaching; the reflections of teaching and learning approaches on mathematics teaching; fundamental abilities of mathematics education; examples of classroom applications; the contemporary tendencies and problems in mathematics education; components of effective mathematics education; social, cultural and economic view to mathematics education.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
