COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To acquire knowledge and skills about how to use teaching strategies, methods and techniques for teacher candidates.
Course Content The aims of science teaching, scientific literacy; learning theories commonly used in science teaching; common misconceptions in science; teaching strategies, methods, techniques, materials and applications (expository teaching strategy, discovery learning strategy, collaborative learning, demonstration); laboratory techniques, laboratory safety, use of simple materials in science teaching, concept teaching and the use of graphical tools (concept map, v-diagram, informatics-charts), teaching techniques with analogies, the use of scientific models in science teaching; preparation and implementation of lesson plans based on the use of teaching methods and techniques.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
