COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective To improve the knowledge of the students related with chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, acids and bases, electrochemistry and to reinforce the information with the main group elements, develop, and demonstrate the applicability is to eliminate the shortcomings. For this purpose, the course discusses in detail the issues in the content, sample problems is done about the issues, examples and applications are made necessary, are made with everyday life.
Course Content Chemical reactions (chemical equations, precipitation, complexation reactions); chemical kinetics (rate of reaction, factors affecting reaction rate, rate law, threshold energy, rate constant dependence on temperature); reaction mechanisms and catalysis; chemical equilibrium (finding equilibrium constant); proton transfer- acids and bases; salt solutions (acid bases of ions, titrations, buffer solutions, factors affecting chemical equilibrium, oxidation-reduction reactions); electrochemistry (electrolysis and battery); thermochemistry (heat, laws of thermodynamics, enthalpy, internal energy, entropy); nuclear chemistry (radioactivity, nuclear energy) and open and closed-end experiments for these subjects.
