Course Objective	To analyze the definition, history, branches of lingusitics as a field of study as well as its relationship with other disciplines.
Course Content	A historical overview of language studies until the early 20th century; The emergence of the concept of linguistics in the 20th century; branches of linguistics and study fields; European and American linguistic schools, Studies in semiotics; associating theories with language teaching at the theoretical and practical level.
