Course Objective Main theories in Folklore. Sources of Folk literature. Pre-Islamic legends and legends after the acceptance of Islam, folk tales and their main characteristics, folk beliefs, Turkish minstrels such as Köroğlu, Karacaoğlan, Aşık Veysel and their works, representatives (Yunus Emre, Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli etc.) and key features of Turkish Tasavvuf Literature.
Course Content The nature of Turkish Folk Literature, conceptual field, historical process; The branches of Folk Literature; Islam old Turkish epics before and after, epics, legends, folk tales and poems, folk literatüre studies on the texts and the ones that are suitable for primary education from these texts selection exercises.
