COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic principles of reading, speaking, listening that are the basic skill areas of teaching Turkish language, to perform practices related to lecturing, to recognize teaching Turkish methods and techniques in primary school, to apply these methods and techniques in educational process, to be able to prepare functional plans related to teaching Turkish language and to have knowledge about the language policies followed in Turkey.
Course Content The basic principles of teaching listening, speaking, reading and writing that are the basic skill areas of teaching Turkish, lecturing process in teaching Turkish, visual reading and visual presentation, creative writing, intertextual reading, reading comprehension strategies, contemporary writing techniques, teaching grammar, methods and techniques that can be used in teaching Turkish, language policies in Turkey, problems encountered by classroom teachers in teaching Turkish and solution recommendations, creative reading, teaching Turkish to non-Turkish students, contemporary measurement and evaluation practices in teaching Turkish
