Course Objective To explain the variable which have a role on historical processes to inform about educational perspective and institutional regulations of Turkish societies. To comprehend the effect of various states, lifestyles, religious beliefs, etc on educational perspectives, and to make a connection with modern education system, institutions and practices.
Course Content The topics, methods and resources of Turkish educational history; education in the first Turkish states; education in the first states of muslim Turkish ; education in Turkey Seljuks and Anatolian seigniories; education in Ottoman Empire; education system till the first enlightenment acts; education in Turkish states outside of Ottoman Empire between the 13th and 18th centuries; innovation acts in Ottoman Empire till Reform era; establishment of modern education system from Reform era to Republic period; reorganization of traditional education; education in other Turkish communities and states in Eurasia in 19-20th centuries; education in Turkish Republic; basics, establishment, structure and development of Turkish education system; teacher training process; education in 21st century Turkish world; common aims, unity of language and alphabet; writing practices of a common history.
