Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to introduce early childhood learning environments. The main aim of the course is to discuss the central characteristics of ECE learning environments, design principles, and contributions of the children are learning. Additionally, various early childhood educational models and their learning environment principals and materials will be explored.
Course Content
Place and important of early childhood education. Effect of educational environments, educational environments to suitable development, Instutions of early childhood education: Nursery’s and Kindergardens’ features, physical environment and design. The interior space features, classrooms and learning centers. Open-air designs. Special Education Schools and hospitals. Mobile schools, health, and security. Learning environments of different preschool education programs (Montessori, High Scope, Reggio Emilia). .
