COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree

Course Objective This course is aimed to define and apply health education practices and methods, factors affecting public health, family and child health, common health problems and prevention methods in childhood, and basic first aid practices.
Course Content Definition of health, the state of child health in our country and in the world, the formation of pregnancy, child development in the womb, the effects of diseases and accidents that can be experienced during pregnancy on the development of the child, the physical development (teeth, height, weight) and follow-up of 0-6-year-old children, pediatric diseases (diarrhea and respiratory tract infections, immunization and rash diseases, parasitic infections, etc.) and prevention methods, vaccinations, health problems according to the life stages of the woman, family planning, fracture-dislocation, burn, injury, insect bite, poisoning, foreign body swallowing, etc. It contains the basic first aid information that the teacher should do in situations.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Definition of health, child health in the world and in our country,
2Pregnancy; symptoms, affecting diseases, dangerous situations explain abnormal pregnancies.
3Explains the physical development and criteria of 0-6 year old children, infectious diseases.
4Explains the definition of immunization (vaccine), types and vaccination schedule, types of airborne diseases, symptoms and ways of protection
5Explain the diseases transmitted by water and food, their symptoms and ways of protection.
6Explain the diseases transmitted by contact, their symptoms, and ways of prevention.
7Explain the definition, importance, goals, and principles of first aid, basic life support, and applications.
8Explains the definition of bleeding and first aid, shock symptoms, and first aid.
9Explains the symptoms, types, and first aid of injuries.
10Describes symptoms and first aid for burns, heat strokes, frostbite, fractures, dislocations, and sprains.
11Explains loss of consciousness, and poisoning.
12Explain the causes, symptoms, first aid of suffocation, and techniques for transporting the sick and injured.
