COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	To comprehend the importance of local history. To teach the methodology of this period. To teach how to evaluate the data in Seljuk period sources and historical artifacts in Denizli. To give information about the Seljuk and Principalities period of Denizli. To introduce the prominent events and people in this period.
Course Content	The first Turkish raids against Denizli and its surroundings. The conquest of Denizli by the Seljuks and the important people who came to the fore in this process. Important events that took place in Denizli during the Seljuk period. The Second Crusade and the Battle of Mityokephalon. Mehmet Gazi, Inanc Bey and other important leaders. Important architectural and cultural artifacts from the Seljuk period.
