Course Objective The main aim of the course is to give information about sociology's and social science’s perspectives on social and cultural change. Another aim of this course is to provide the student with the ability to critically evaluate the economic and political content of the individual and social dimensions of change.
Course Content Definitions related to the concepts of social and cultural change; the effect of change on individuals and institutions. The concepts of acculturation and assimilation, the concepts of social and cultural integration. Theories of social and cultural change. Modernization theories. Modernism and postmodernism. Social-cultural change and technology. Everyday life and change. Effects and reflections of digitalization on society and individuals.
