COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the second period of the Eighteenth century English Novel. Readings from major Eighteenth Century writers such as Laurence Sterne, Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters, Mary Shelley and others from this period are included. Types of the novel, including gothic, realist, sentimental, epistolary, picaresque and comic novel will be discussed.
