Course Objective To introduce the culture of the Hellenistic Period, beginning with the reign of Alexander the Great (336 BC) and ending with the Roman conquest of Egypt (30 BC).
Course Content Alexander the Great and his eastern expedition; Hellenistic Kingdoms; Definition of Hellenism and features of the Hellenistic Period; Scientific developments, philosophy, art and architecture in the Hellenistic Period; The importance and consequences of the Hellenistic Period in terms of world history
