Course Objective While studying the phonetic features of French, which is an inflected language, the course aims to provide the student with a good pronunciation by examining the phonetic changes, phonetic events that occur during utterance.
Course Content By starting from the phonetics, the phases of the phonetic compounds, the transformation of phonetics into syllables, the syllables into words are examined. The formation of language elements such as syllable, word, phrase and sentence will be taken into consideration. Different examples of intonation which gives meaning to phonetic will be examined. Features of phonetics used at different language levels will be studied on recorded examples of phonetic.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Knows the phonetics and their pronounciations that form the French alphabet.
2Comprehends the phonetic events (sound shift, enclisis, elision etc.)
3Comprehends the intonation parameters (frequency, intensity, length etc.)
4Knows the features of phonetics at levels of different language usages.
5Becomes aware of the dimensions of pronunciation in terms of intonation, syntax, and lexicology.
6Speaks and expresses himself at an advanced level as he knows the features of phonetics of French.
