Course Objective Turkish stamps, information about stamps, information about the alphabets used by Turks throughout history.
Course Content Writing is a system developed by all human beings in the historical process. This system, which consists of different pictures and signs, has been developed in different ways in the Turks throughout history. Writing and writing systems created based on stamps have also undergone differences due to political, sociological, economic and religious reasons. These will also be discussed in the course. Gokturk, Mani, Sogut, Uyghur, Brahmi, Tibetan, Syriac-Estrangelo and Hebrew alphabets from the writing and writing systems in ancient Turkish societies; Greek, Arabic, Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, among the writing systems used recently, will be evaluated within the framework of these topics and from a sociocultural perspective. The issue of alphabets used in the Turkish world today will be discussed and the question of which writing system is most compatible with Turkish will be answered.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Understands the stamps of Turks, the transformation of stamps into letters and the different writing systems used by Turks throughout history.
2It deals with the issue of how the systems related to writing are evaluated for political, sociological, economic and religious reasons.
3Learns about the Göktürk, Mani, Soğut, Uyghur, Brahmi, Tibetan, Syriac-Estrangelo and Hebrew alphabets, which are the writing systems used by the Turks in historical periods.
4Evaluates the alphabets such as Greek, Arabic, Cyrillic and Latin, which are used in recent years (last centuries), from different perspectives, especially from a socio-cultural perspective.
