Course Objective to learn the history of photography , to comprehend the working principles of the camera mechanisms and light control, to understand color temperature and balance, to recognize lenses and other optical devices. To learn visual composition in photography, to use the techniques of digital photography, to understand and assess the aesthetics of the image, to critique photography
Course Content History of photography, dark room (camera obscura) information,relationship photography and fine arts

1At the end of this course, students will be able to ... Describe the developmental stages of photography and photographic art in the world and in Turkey.
2Evaluate the importance of artistic aspect of photography.
3Explain the basic components of the camera functions
4realize measurement and control of artificial and natural light to take a photo
5use the elements of visual composition
6use photographic techniques on different subjects in different categories such as man, nature, fiction, documentary, advertising, etc.
7Explain dark room techniques in theory.
8comprehend the techniques of digital photography and attempt to image processing programs
