COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To provide information about the conservation and at the same time architectural techniques used in archaeological periods and architectural elements such as clamps used during the construction of structures.
Course Content There are different uses of metal in ancient architecture and these are: • As a structural element; beam, rebar, pulley, tensioner, banding, clamp, tenon, bracelet, now, strut. • as coating material; facade, door, roof cover, etc., • As joinery material; and • as auxiliary and decorative elements; embossing, nails, latches, hooks, resins, heels, wedges, etc. can be grouped as decoration iron works and installation material. All these architectural elements, their application places and methods, the types of deterioration according to the production material and condition, and the factors that cause deterioration will be presented.
