Course Objective Basic chemistry knowledge, as well as conservation practices during the preparation and application of chemicals to be used for different types of materials to provide qualification.
Course Content Concepts of matter, atom, element, molecule and compound, mixtures, basic definitions and concepts. Short history and scope of chemistry. Measurement information, unit systems. Mol concept; calculations on chemical reactions; equilibrium of chemical reactions. States of matter, gas state, gas laws, kinetic gas theory; liquid state, boiling; solid state, amorphous and crystal structure, definitions and mathematical modeling; acids and bases, acid and base definitions, acid and base reactions; strength of acids. Introduction to radioactivity, radioactive decay; chemical balance; interpretation of thermodynamic laws and reactions.
