Course Objective Restoration of ancient stone material and today's stone restoration and its similarities and differences will be discussed. Materials and analysis used in the restoration of the ancient period will be examined extensively, the data obtained and the materials used will be focused on the positive negative consequences.
Course Content Restoration works must have been carried out in all works since antiquity. The completion of the architectural elements of the ancient period was made in the form of one-to-one completion, which meets the needs of the day and is due to a practical necessity, in most cases to suit the color and texture of the work. Today, with limited interventions due to respect for history and cultural necessity, such concerns have not been observed in the past, and therefore, changes in the architectural structures and elements of antiquity have been made without limits. Restoration of the architectural elements of the ancient period, stone processing, transportation, etc. it was made due to distortions caused by different reasons. The restoration works are classified as bonding, passing-compression, clamping and leveling. The course will focus on the original works of the ancient period.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
6To determine the original repair traces made in the ancient period, types and applications of restoration, comparison of the materials used with today's application and materials. In this context, knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation outcomes will be achieved.
