Course Objective
Within the scope of conservation regulations, it is aimed to explain the methods and applications of stone work conservation and restoration in historical buildings, archaeological sites and museums in Turkey and Europe.
Course Content
After the identification of material information and deterioration in stone works, comprehensive investigation of methods and practices in stone works cleaning and consolidation in Turkey and Europe within the framework of national and international conservation regulations. Materials and application processes used in stone cleaning and consolidation are examined in detail. The implementation of the anastylosis, which is part of stone-completion method and its applications, stone artifacts merge-and-paste integration and completion materials, techniques and methods, the removal and transportation of stone artifacts, museum or archaeological excavation in the area of the exhibition, in the works of stone conservation and repair by examining in detail the issues of preparation of the report, done in a variety of applications on modern materials.
