Course Objective To teach the translation techniques from Turkish to english and English to Turkish on different sabjects in the branches of Biology. This course also enables the student to understand the passages related the Professional subjects and helps to understand the text and enables them also to write about scientific papers and reports.
Course Content General review of tenses and basic rules, Reading passages and understanding them, Guessing the meaning of new words, Synonyms and opposite meanings of the words, reading passages and understanding them, Guessing the meaning of the words by using prefixes, suffixes and the stems of the words. Gerunds and phrasal words and their usage in different meanings, Reading passages and understanding them, Reading passages and understanding them, Searching abstracts and papers in different databases and understanding them, How to write a scientific paper? Preparation of poster and oral presentations, Curriculum Vitae (CV) writing.
