Course Objective Provide basic information about biotechnology and recombinant DNA technology to explain the theory and practice.
Course Content The basic principles of biotechnology, biotechnology important microorganisms, preparation of plant and animal cell cultures, microbial biomass and primary metabolites

1defines the basic principles of biotechnology, biotechnologic processes and the modern recombinant DNA technology.
2defines the biotechnologically important microorganisms and their methaboisms
3tells about the preperation of plant and animal cultures.
4explains the technical principles of fermentation.
5tells the basic steps of biotechnology
6clarifyes the microbial growth and bioproduct kinetics.
7applies the production of microbial biomass and primer metabolites
8gets experiences on fermentation, secondary metabolites' production, biotransformations and enzyme production
9defines recombinant DNA technology
10tells the metodology of recombinant DNA technology.
11expresses the application areas of recombinant DNA technology
12discusses the communal aspect and the future of genetic engineering.
