Course Objective To gain basic information about the bioactive organic compounds. Biological properties of bio-molecules, their chemical reactions and consequences.
Course Content Biosynthesis of natural compounds, Nature of biosynthetic reactions, Hydrur transfer, Accylation, Alkylation, Elimination, Role of phosphate in biosynthesis, Tryptophan and related compounds, Gallic acid, peptides and gallotannins, C6-C3 compounds and derivatives of hydroxynamic acid
