COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Sociology of crime in the first course in classical and modern periods with regard to crime, developed the basic theoretical approaches are studied: the classical school of positivist school of biological, physiological and psychological explanations, sociological approaches.
Course Content Introduction to the Crime sociology, basic theoretical approaches, diffrent schools, investigation resumes about crime in Turkey. Classical school, positivist school, biological, psycological and sociological approaches. Also, age, gender, social statue,race, ethnic factors related with crime. Turkish studies depending on crime and reflects on Turkish society. Researh studies realized in Turkey and these studies’ datas (women abuse, child abuse, crime related with use of drug, sexual crimes, integrity crime, vendetta, economic crime and their changeble nature and become widespread these crime. .

1to learn about crime in the basic concepts, theories, approaches
2To report a crime within the framework of present-day theories of crime.
3The results of research conducted in Turkey (female delinquency, juvenile delinquency, crimes related to drug use, honor killings, revenge, and the spread of the changing nature of economic crimes, etc.) have been evaluated.
