Course Objective To understand and argue for or against influential Islamic thinkers’ views.
Course Content Some of the issues are: İşrakilik (Şehabettin Sühreverdi, İbn Tufeyl), independent thinkers (Abdüllatif Bağdadi, Abu’l Bereket Bağdadi, İbn Haldun), philosophy of mysticism (Gazzali,M.İ. Arabi, S. Konevi, N. Tusi and Molla Cami), natural sciences in Islamic world, effects of Islamic sciences and philosophy to the Western world.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Compares the solutions to the problems that Islamic philosophers and ancient and medieval philosophical ideas.
2earns the philosophers who the Islamic philosophers influenced by in general.
3Learns about philosophical schools of Islamic philosophers who raised in İslamic idea.
4Learns about how Islamic Philosophers based different ideas that they produced in the same culture.
5Learns about the effects of Islamic philosophers and thinkers, to philosophers and thinkers of different cultures for generating ideas.
