COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to present major theories and perspectives on human personality in a historical context. Students are expected to be able to critically approach scientific, social, biological, cultural, and historical influences in the formation of different personality theories.
Course Content This course will focus on definitions and evaluation of personality, as well as various theories of personality. Basic personality theories such as psychodynamic theory, behavioral and cognitive theory, humanistic/existential theory will be discussed.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1To be able to summarize basic theories to explain and explore personality.
2To be able to compare different theories of personality.
3To be able to critically analyze the various definitions of personality; the relationship between personality and social, cultural, and interactional contexts; the sources of unique aspects of personality.
