Course Objective The aim of course is examining the definitions, concepts, techniques, used materials, ornamented with features of ceramic and tile and the first implementation examples sites of Islamic art and Turkish Art.
Course Content Ceramic and tile construction techniques, the first application areas and the Turkish ceramic art at the end of the Anatolian Seljuk and Emirates period

1 The course will be introduced, the sources and their contents will be explained.
2 The history of tile and ceramic will be explained, the materials and construction stages in the tile and ceramic will be examined.
3 The mateials used making tile and ceramics and cooking stoves will be introduced.
4 Ceramic and tile construction techniques (open-work craps, glaze, underglaze, on-glaze, color glaze technique, tile mosaic, relief, Mina) will be introduced.
5 The technics as luster, Mina, sgraffito, slip will be continued.
6 The first examples of the use of glazed tiles and ceramic materials in the world and the first applications in the Turks will be emphasized.
7 The using of the tile in the religious and public buildings of Anatolian principalities era will be explained: The Tokat Çukur Madrasa, Divrigi Castle Mosque, Konya Kılıç Arslan Mausoleum, the Great Mosque Aksehir, Sivas Izzettin 1.Keykavus Tomb, Konya Alaeddin Mosque, Konya Şekerfuruş Masjid, Tomb of Tokat Ali al-Tusi, Aksehir Small Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Great Mosque of Malatya will be expained.
8 The using of tile such as the structures Konya Sircali Madrasa, Konya Karatay Madrasa, Konya grain Masjid, and Ata Mosque in Konya, Afyon Misri Mosque, Kölük Mosque in Kayseri, İnce Minaret Mosque in Konya, Sahip Ata khangah and the tomb in Konya, Sivas Gok Medrese, Sivas Buruciye Madrese, Sivas, Çifte (Double) Minaret Madrasah will be emphasized.
9 The using of tile such as the structures Gök Madrasah in Amasya, Sadrettin Konevi Masjid in Konya, Arap Baba Masjid in Harput, Beyhekim Mosque in Konya, Gök Madrasah in Tokat, Taş Madrasah in Çay at Afyon, Tahir and Zühre Masjid Konya,, Arslanhane Mosque in Ankara, Çifte (double) Minaret Madrasah in Erzurum will be explained.

11 The using of tile such as the structures Anatolian Seljuk palaces, II. Kilic Arslan Pavilion, Keykubadiye Kayseri, Antalya, Aspendos, Alanya Interior Castle, Aksaray (Sarayalti), Kubadabad large and small tiles of the palace, Maiden Castle and Malanda structures will be explained.
12 The informations of the using of tile in the Anatolian principalities periods will be given. The using of tile such as the structures Eşrefoglu Mosque and the tomb in Beyşehir, in the tomb of Mevlana tile sarcophagi in Konya, the Kara Arslan tomb sarcophagus tiles in Konya, Yakutiye Madrasa in Erzurum, the Great Mosque in Birgi, Tomb of Mehmet Bey, and Aydınoğlu Mehmet Beg Tomb in Birgi will be emphasized.
13 The examples of Gaferyat Village Mosque in Karaman, Aydınoğlu Isa Bey Mosque in Ephesus (Efes), Ilyas Bey Mosque in Balat, Hasbey Darul Hüffazı in Konya, Germiyanoglu Yakup Beg II Tomb in Kutahya and Ibrahim Beg İmaret (kitchen) in Karaman will be explained.
14 To do a general assessment of the tile and ceramic art.
