Course Objective The aim of this course to define classical ceramic and to analyze that the general characteristic of political and social structure of Classical period. The objectives of this course is analyzed that the technical features of classical period.
Course Content The features, progress, production centers, vase painters, extension scopes, progress and variations in the techniques of figures of the ceramic types which had been occurred at the end of 6th century B.C. and had been seen up to Hellenistic Era will be told with significant examples.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1Describe the pottery of classical period in a general context.
2Examine social and political structure of classical period.
3Examine the impacts of archaic pottery characteristics on orientalizing pottery by making analogies.
4Examine the technical characteristics of pottery painters in classical period.
5Examine the pottery painting techniques by making analogies
6Examine the development of pottery shapes in antiquity.
