Course Objective The aim of this course to understand both topographically and archaeologically the geography of ancient Anatolia based on regions, to recognize regional cultural features and geography of Anatolia, to understand social and political structure of regions. The objective of the course to recognize the boundaries of regions and cities from Prehistoric period to Roman period in Anatolia, to research and describe the major cities and structures of regions.
Course Content The historical perspective of Anatolia, the regional characteristics which exist from Prehistoric Eras to the end of the Antique Eras will be generally discussed, and ancient geographical regions of Anatolia will be explained.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be able to recognize the regions and geographical limits of Anatolian cities from prehistory to the end of Roman period
2To be able to examine archaeologically and geographically the region of Ancient Anatolia taking into consideration the limits of regions
3To examine regional and cultural features of Ancient Anatolian populations and the ethnicities of peoples
4To be able to have ideas about Anatolian geography, social and political characteristics of the regions
5To investigate and evaluate the main cities and buildings of Thrakia, Bithynia, Mysia, Troas, Aiolis, Caria and Lycia
