COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to describe the founding conditions of Turkish Republic, the political and social trends and the problems faced in the first years of Republic. .
Course Content The aim of this course is to teach students modernization movements in Ottoman States from Tanzimat till the announcement of 2nd constitutional, political and constitutional changes before the announcement of constitutional system, political and ideal life before the Union and Progress Party, associations, the Turkish Independence War, the National Assembly, first constitutions, social and political modernization attempts during Ataturk and republic.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
