Course Objective Explaining the Russian supremacy in the Eastern Europe, Balkanian, Caucassians and in the Middle Asia and relations with Turkic and Turkish communities in this region.
Course Content Origin and emergence Slavs, establishment of Rus goverment, Russia under the Turko-Mongol supremacy, Russian Empire, establishment of Soviet Union, emergence of Modern Russia.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

1Comprehends the meaning of the term 'Balkan', the geography and geo-politic importance of the Balkan peninsula
2Evaluates the political stituation of the Balkans before Ottoman sovereignty
3Discuses the process of Ottoman conquest in the Balkans
4Evaluates the prerequests of Pax Ottomana
5Discuses the Ottoman policy of Religious tolerance
6Comprehends the urban development of Ottoman cities and the importance of waqf institution
7Discusses the pecularities and results of decentralization in the Balkans
8Discusses the political, social, cultural and economic charecteristics of Balkan Peninsula at the end of 18th century
9Evaluates the policiy of Russia and Austria towards Balkans
10Comprehends the developments resulted the nationalism in the Balkans
