Course Objective to teach Ottoman diplomatics in the level of evaluating Ottoman archives documents
Course Content The aim of this course is to teach students the correspondence language used in Ottoman period. The registry books, land register books, personal records, book of records of the Imperial Assembly (mühimme defteri), law book of state offices (ahkam defteri), foundation books, directing books and such documents that formed the record books of the time are evaluated and documents selected from the archives are read in the course.
