Course Objective To give information about socio- economic and thought history of Western civilization and to make students comprehend the Turkish institutions in modernization period.
Course Content The aim of this course is to teach students the political ideas before and after Socrates. The related subjects are internal and external changes and developments in Romans, law, the stages of feudalism in West Europe and its development, economical and social changes in modern age, the Renaissance, and reform.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1The contributions of the oldest civilizations of the East learned in Ancient Greek thought and the formation of this idea.
2The importance of philosophy understood in ancient western civilization today.
3It is learned that Roman Empire’s place and contributions in the world civilization.
4Christianity,the role played by the church learn medieval thought and its in social structure.
5The Students learn that the differences between the Islamic and Ottoman social institutions with the Europe of the Middle Ages.
6The Students have information about the basic references of today's western civilization
